The World of Elements  A Periodic Table Remake

The World of Elements is an innovative project that transforms the traditional periodic table into a visually captivating display, while retaining all essential information such as atomic number, symbol, name, and atomic mass. This reimagined table categorizes elements into three distinct groups: metals, metalloids, and nonmetals, making it both an educational tool and an artistic piece. Below is the final product, a reimagined periodic table that transforms into a world map. Each element is positioned based on its discovery location, creating a map that is both familiar and unique. The color palette, inspired by Google Maps, enhances the resemblance to a traditional map that also incorporates a map legend.

Final Design

Initially, the design was intended to mimic the shape of a shape, integrating clock numbers with atomic numbers to facilitate easier element identification from a functional perspective. In this clock-themed version, elements are color-coded based on their discovery periods rather than being categorized into metal types, offering a unique chronological visualization of the periodic table.

Second iteration

Below is the initial rough draft of the clock-themed design. In this concept, a smaller circle inside the 60 points was used to incorporate the remaining elements. However, the small font size made it difficult to read the information, leading to a redesign where the remaining elements were placed onto the band portion for better readability.
